Init(String ... words)
Like many software engineers I find myself browsing blogs for new ideas, troubleshooting and how to help. I think it is about time that I try and give back a little and share some of my experiences and opinions with technology and architecture as I bounce around the software engineering and entrepreneur worlds.
I’ve spent time as a developer, team lead, manager, consultant and have recently been dipping my toes into the startup world (check the About page for some details), looking back, I can’t say that one is a favorite role for me, each has provided me with unique experiences and lessons learned that I leverage often. Maybe something here will spark someone’s interest or save them a little time…
I expect that some post will be on the technical side, but I am planning to drop in my thoughts and opinions on teams, methodologies, career paths, startups and maybe something really crazy once in a while that is purely personal (like being a problem solver when your wife doesn’t really need/want one…). If there is something you want to see in a post or if you are interested in writing a guest post just shoot me an email.
I’m sure some of the opinions will be disagreeable and others just plain wrong…but I’m sure some post will be helpful for others, such as solving a technical problem or providing insight on building a new team.
I expect a few grammatical errors, not the ones that the compiler catches :), and odd word choices here and there, after all, that is generally how I carry on a conversation.
I think that I’ll do some segments, but I don’t know what that looks like yet, something like: lessons learned, startups, book summary / review…etc. I’ll likely pull in some content that I write for blog.referowl.com as much will be relevant (like running your startup on aws for free). So, let’s see where this goes…
